This problem started a couple of weeks ago, then disappeared, then reappeared this morning after I switched the USB cable to another laptop (for which it worked perfectly) and then back to the original-and has refused to work properly since. It takes 10-20 minutes to print one page, and it will print a line, then long pause, then another line, long pause, etc. Thanks for the reply.
I've actually done all those things. I don't recall the actual verbage of the Print Doctor, but it did pass.Last night printed a test page. After 45 minutes I cancelled the print job because it still wasn't done, though almost.
The color bars were not clear, they were streaked and pale. At that point, I unplugged everything-power cord to the printer, plug of the power cord, USB cable on both ends, and left it for several hours.
This morning I powered up the printer and left it for a while, then plugged in the USB cable, first to the computer, then to the printer. After a few more minutes, I printed a test page-and everything worked fine, no color streaks, no problems whatsoever. I printed several documents today with no problem. BTW, yes, the cartridges are genuine HP.Tehe HPSupport Assistant still doesn't find the printer- which I find disturbing because I don't know of any other way to check the ink levels- so there's obviously something still going on. Let me know if I should start a new thread on that problem.
